InInglese su maggio 26, 2011 a 17:35

May, 12th 2011 was a memorable day for the students of class III D. On that day they were in Rome  where they received congratulations for their partecipation to the Einaudi School project: “L’ Espressino” the multilanguage online school – paper.

The Innovascuola prize is a national reward given to innovative didactic school projects which make use of information technology. All students of III D agree to say it was a nice experience:

  • being in Rome with other students from different parts of Italy was exciting;
  • hearing the name of their school was fantastic; and, above all,
  • receiving a medal as a symbol of their efforts in writing articles online in different languages was wonderful!

All of them are grateful especially to their Leggi il seguito di questo post »

Let’s make a difference!

InInglese su aprile 12, 2011 a 10:52

Are you curious about Easter traditions in the U.K.? Would you like to see and taste typical Easter treats? Come to Einaudi High School on April 15th! The students of class III D (social services) want to share with you their knowledge about Easter celebrations in Britain and sell home-made cakes. They’re doing this event for a special fund raising in favour of Japanese children after the terrible earthquake.

On this occasion, the Easter Bunny will be pleased to meet you and to have a photo with you. The event will include an Easter Bonnet Parade. Help us let our project of solidarity come true! Thanks in advance.

Speaking of Italy in English

InInglese su marzo 21, 2011 a 16:34

With the help of our English teacher, Mrs. Paola Iorio, we are learning about British culture, by making comparisons with our country. In this way, we are learning English, but at the same time, we are realizing the importance of Italian culture and way of life. We are learning to feel much more Italian, and to respect other cultures and customs.

To celebrate 150 years of the Italian Unity, we wrote a “collective poem”, whose title is “Italy”: Leggi il seguito di questo post »

The networking generation

InInglese su febbraio 20, 2011 a 15:49

We teenagers are labelled as the networking generation. Social networking is communication with people who share your interests using a website. So cyberspace is the place where we develop our social skills. Over 50% of teenagers in the U.S.A. and in Italy use networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook. On their pages they write about themselves adding photos, music and videos. By the process of “friending”, we teenagers make hundreds of friends form all over the world. Studies have shown that social networking sites may help teenagers to improve their communication skills. So, we are very happy of this, and we hope even our teachers are!

Travelling with INTERCULTURA

InInglese su gennaio 13, 2011 a 20:17

My experience in Venezuela was amazing. It was not easy to adapt to a new culture… But, it was the best thing that has ever happened to me. What I like most is the fact that Venezuelans accept life and what it has to offer them. There everybody was friendly with me.

They gently corrected me when I was wrong; boys invited me to dance although I was a foreign girl. In the morning I woke up and asked my new parents for a special blessing for me. My mom prepared breakfast with Leggi il seguito di questo post »

Helping people

InInglese su gennaio 13, 2011 a 13:00

Teenagers are often portrayed in the media in a very negative light. But many of them spend some of their free time “doing good”, by getting involved in voluntary work.

In the UK over 75% of students are involved in charity work, such as fundraising, because they believe in giving to those less fortunate than themselfs, and most support the work of Leggi il seguito di questo post »

CHRISTMAS IN THE U.K.

InInglese su dicembre 14, 2010 a 11:19

Christmas in Britain is similar to Christmas in the rest of Europe.  Towns and villages are decorated with lights and people send cards with greetings for a “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year” and give presents.

But there  are some customs which are tipically British. On Christmas Eve it is traditional for children to go around singing Christmas carols to collect money for charity. Houses are decorated with holly wreaths and little children hang up a stocking at the foot of the bed and wait for Santa Claus. Leggi il seguito di questo post »

The pressure to be perfect

InInglese su giugno 4, 2010 a 10:36

Nowadays in our society the pressure to be perfect is increasing in teenagers. Many of them used the plastic surgery to be perfect. I am a student and in my opinion it is wrong to use it beacuse our body is chancing and improving since we are in a period of our life  of grouwth. I agree that the people must cure their body, and their face but with natural’s products for example moustering cream ecc… Using beauty  products as powder, eye shadow, nail polish, lip gloss, eye liner, Leggi il seguito di questo post »
